Personal Developmental Therapy
Conventional medicine tends to treat children with developmental delays and difficulties by giving a name to the sickness, problem, or deficiency.
I meet and work with children and babies with special needs, that manifest in areas such as: motor and sensory deficiencies, CP, Ataxia, Autism and communication difficulties, genetic syndromes such as: Complex V deficiency, Mitochondrial disease, Ret, Flat Brain and many other syndromes and diseases.
In all these meetings, I choose to concentrate on the healthy part of the child: The part that aspires to learn, grow and flourish.
I know, that even if it sometimes feels lost – it is never truly so.
The role of the parent is crucial in the therapy process. We as parents are fundamental in setting the stage for early development.
That is why, I Support the parents and help them nurture changes and learning, as part of the child development process.
The program is conducted inside the family house, thus the therapy becomes a part of everyday life for the child and family and every moment becomes an opportunity to learn and develop.
In that way, we can bring about positive changes in relationships and behavior for the child and strength the family as a whole.
Based on the needs of the child and parents, I will cooperate within the larger circle that includes the extended family and support staff, like school and kindergarten teachers, or other therapists. Together we will facilitate a circle of love, knowledge and support around the child – and by so, create the best surrounding and atmosphere for him/her to grow and flourish.
The focus of the therapy is the child’s ability to learn and develop. The methods incorporate play, movement and touch.
The goal is to help the child fulfill his/her developmental potential, in order to become independent and happy human being.
